Maternity Mommies: One Step Forward….Two Weeks Back

I didn’t post last week. I was too busy sulking.

I had what was supposed to be my first trimester screen with the perinatalogist on Thursday. We were nervous that we would actually be further along than we thought we were and not be able to do the screen…but were still hoping we would get a solid date and maybe, just maybe, find out what gender the baby is.

We got a solid date alright…and we didn’t get to do the first tri screen. We are nearly TWO AND A HALF weeks LESS pregnant than we thought we were. Of all of the things I was prepared to hear that day…THAT was not one of them!! Granted…it isn’t NEARLY the end of the world…but it is so disparaging to think that you are rounding out your first trimester only to be told that you are really only 10 weeks. *sigh*

So…official due date is now October 16. I will be 11 weeks pregnant tomorrow….this means that I have to hold out for 2 more weeks without gaining any weight to meet that goal. I’m not sure I can do it. :)

Which leads me to my fitness update:
I am waffling back and forth on my Wii Fit weight about 1.5 lbs. It is hard to tell because I can’t ever weigh in at the same time every day. On my personal scale that I check just a little obsessively every morning…I am up about 1lb. This leaves me still -3lbs. since my very first ob check.

I only worked out 3 times on the Wii Fit last week….I didn’t reach my goal of 4x…. but STILL … I worked out THREE TIMES last week on the Wii Fit!! :) I am NOT slacking like I did the other two times around.

I’ve been working my arms…as I’ve mentioned before they are my focal point right now. I’m struggling with the advanced boxing…I don’t think I’m doing it right…I’ll take suggestions. Am I perhaps not squatting enough when I “duck”?

Food is still an issue…my plan to cook in the morning is proving to be quite a wise one…but I’m still not making the healthiest of options for the family…lots of pasta …lots of cheese. Portion size is KEY.

Which leads me to this weeks recipe. For those of you mamas facing pregnancy or childbirth…ANY easy to make or make ahead recipe is greatly appreciated…I KNOW. So here is this weeks:

Pasta Yum

1lbs. mostacolli or penne pasta, prepared
1lb. beef or meat substitute
1 jar spaghetti sauce
1/2c. grated parmesan cheese
1c. Shredded mozzerella

Brown burger or meat substitute, add spaghetti sauce and parmesan cheese. Add in prepared mostacolli and mix together. Spoon into 9 x 13 pan (or 2 8″ square and freeze one!) sprinkle mozzerella cheese on top. Stick in 350 degree oven for 20 minutes or until heated through and cheese is melted and bubbly.

Easy-peasy! You can add whatever you like to this as well..sometimes I will throw in sliced mushrooms or cook some peppers in with the ground burger. You can make this in the am and toss it in the oven at dinner time as well!

Now I want to hear from other Maternity Mommies! What are YOU doing to stay/get fit during your pregnancy? What are your stuggles and your triumphs?? Blog it up … then link it up!!

Ugh! I hear ya…especially at the end is when you’re gunna be like “2 more?!?!” I keep debating about the Wii Fit. We have the Wii and I lost 20lbs last year and have put 5 back on :(

I can’t blog about the pregnancy quite yet, our dr apt is next week and I need to see the little guy/girl first before I can tell real people. I’ve started the morning sickness this week though and my energy level is in the basement! I’m trying to still work out though, and have had random cravings for avocados and edemame…guess it’s better than pickes and ice cream! Good luck!

Too bad you can’t tell that gruff boxer dude, “Give me a break! I’m pregnant!” lol It’s been awhile since I did the boxing…

Woman, it’s a GOOD thing! Blogher! We’re going to Blogher! I’ll wheel your preggo hotness around if I have to :)

    you are doing great!

boxing: for the dodge move…you really dont have to duck…just put the two controllers close together and make sure to move them to the side. Everything else is timing…which is hard to give tips on.

I have problems with boxing too. I think it is a sensor thing with the movements and where the sensor bar is. I’ve tried everything though including moving that bar around and it still doesn’t help. If I ever figure it out I’ll let you know.
