What’s 4 Dinner: Nov 7 -13

It’s been a while since I posed my menus.  What better time to get back on the bandwagon then today?! Part of my theory behind participating in NaBloPoMo is to get back into good habits with my blog…which can in turn create better habits in my life.  Holding myself accountable to a menu that is posted is much easier to do than one I jotted down on a piece of scratch paper I can’t find!

  • Tomato Soup
  • Grilled Turkey and Cheese Sandwiches
  • Apple Slices
  • Carrot/Celery Sticks

Tuesday

Wednesday Left Overs

Thursday

  • Venison Stew
  • Homemade biscuits (we have to have these at least ONCE each week because my family loves them so much)

Friday

Dinner

  • Cheeseburgers (Using our own venison again, I have some guac we could add from B1G1 sale at Dillons)
  • French Fries (I do have tots in the freezer but I may make home fries)
  • Left over veggies

Saturday

Dinner

  • Spicy Chicken and Tomato Penne (Another family favorite and a very healthy pasta dish.  Quick and simple, it rounds out the week nicely)
  • Homemade French Bread (I get my bread recipes mainly from $5 Dinner Mom Cookbook)
  • Salad (I’m so lucky that even my 2.5yo love to eat “wettuce”)

I’m really trying to pare down our spending right now…use up what we have in our freezer and our pantry.  This is important to do every once in a while so that you can cycle out the food that has been there a while and replace it with new.  It’s really important when you stockpile not to let your food expire in the name of a good stash!!

I have everything I need for these dinners AND lunches/breakfasts this week on hand except for deli turkey for Monday Night Dinner.  Our shopping trip will consist of:

  • Rice Milk
  • 2% Milk
  • Whole Milk
  • Soy Cheese
  • Deli Turkey
  • Bread
  • Bananas
  • Lettuce
  • Tomatoes
  • Thyme
  • Frozen Blueberries
  • Other fresh produce that I see on special or looks really great
